‘Hospitality’ seminar will help retailers plan for holiday visitors

During a free seminar next Tuesday at the North Delta Planning and Development District office in Batesville, Panola retail business people can learn more about creating positive experiences for customers leading to repeat business, sponsors have announced.
The City of Batesville, Batesville Main Street and the Panola Partnership are cooperating to present “All Aboard, Keeping Hospitality on Track” featuring retail strategist Ellen Parnell.
The October 18 seminar is planned to help entrepreneurs plan for fall and winter events that will bring large numbers of visitors to the city.
“Join us as we discuss what your business can do to provide a positive experience guaranteeing new and repeat business,” a Batesville Main Street spokesperson said.
The discussion will examine opportunities offered by a fall and winter activity that is growing increasingly full — the Polar Express, Christmas Open House, fishing tournaments, football weekends, the UKC Winter Classic — plus the usual lineup of Batesville Civic Center events and the Christmas season itself.
The 7:30 a.m. starting time is planned to allow business people to attend and then get to their establishments without losing much time, Batesville Main Street Manager Colleen Clark said. Light refreshments will be served; no fee or registration is required.
