Lady Tigers volleyball fall in district action

The South Panola varsity volleyball team suffered a loss to Hernando Thursday night in district play.
The Lady Tigers started off the first set well as Nicole Rensink served up three points. The set remained close up until Hernando’s fourth server managed to take the lead.
The Lady Tigers fought hard to rally points as senior Rachel Towles served nine points, including one ace, but were unable to catch up with a final score of 25-16 in Hernando’s favor.
In their second set, the Lady Tigers were unable to stop Hernando’s scoring. South Panola fell hard in the second set, 25-6.
In their third and final set, South Panola battled back and forth with Hernando as Towles managed to serve seven straight points for the Lady Tigers.
Unfortunately, one Hernando player was able to serve up 10 points in her first serve and eight in her second. Hernando took the win with a final score of 25-15, leaving South Panola with a 3-0 loss.
South Panola junior varsity volleyball team fell to Hernando after two sets. The Lady Tigers lost the first set 25-14 as Hernando managed to score continuous points in a sinlge serve. In the second set, the Lady Tigers were unable to keep up with Hernando’s continuous scoring serves. One Hernando player managed to score 13 points in a single serve and another Hernando player scored nine points in one serve. South Panola fell to Hernando 25-5, taking a loss for the night of 2-0.
The Lady Tigers will face HW Byers at home Thursday night at 5 and 6 p.m.
