Approximately 80 delegates representing all five supervisor districts met for the  Democrat County Convention Saturday at the Batesville courthouse.  Lourine Robinson was elected permanent chairman for the convention.  
The following were elected to serve on the Democrat Executive Committee for the next four years: Detrick Johnson, Madison Smith, John Reed, Arilla Kerney, Rosa Wilson, Arleane Simpson, Willie Stocks, Charles Blakley, Shelia Kelson, Vernice Avant, Lula Palmer, Rosie Brooks, Tamara Sanford, Rubert Morgan, Margaret Dean, Annie Richardson, George Fondren, Gloria Fondren, Geraldine McFarling, Nancy Carr, Tony Benson, Lottie Frison, Toni Price, Percy Bruce, Willie King, Jr, Ricky Brown, Minnie Howard, Georgella Hall, Nina Kimble and Lourine Robinson.
The following were elected as delegates to the Second Congressional District Convention on April 9 at Mississippi Valley State University  and the State Convention on May 21 at Jackson State University: Lourine Robinson, Vernice Avant, Lula Palmer, Annie Perry, Debra Jones, Annie Richardson, Tamara Sanford, Willie King, Jr., Charles Blakley, Detrick Johnson, Willie Stokes, John Reed, Myrt Price, and Larry Pride.
