Five DUI cases brought before city judge

A Batesville man bonded out prior to Batesville Municicipal Court held Wednesday for felony charges. Judge Bill McKenzie bound the man over to the grand jury.
Latavius Faulkner, 208 Pearson, Batesville, was referred to the grand jury for statutory rape.
Brondreekcus Clark, 117-H Lester St., Batesville, entered guilty pleas to DUI, no driver’s license and speeding. He was fined $1,250.
Willie S. Harris, 497 Greg Taylor Rd., Courtland, had a case for DUI-second, driving while license suspended and speeding continued.
Pierre C. Dunlap, 177 Sandy Creek Dr., Oakland, entered guilty pleas to DUI, failure to stop to blue lights and careless driving. He entered MASEP and was fined $1,099.
Robert Earl Barksdale, 1732 Terza Rd., Batesville, entered the city’s work program for 26 days in lieu of paying $1,480 for DUI-refusal, driving while license suspended, failure to stop to blue lights and careless driving.
Kevin A. Winfield, 205 Vaughn St., Batesville, entered guilty pleas to disorderly conduct-failure to comply, loud music. He was fined $824 due in 30 days.
He paid his old fines of $647 in full prior to court.
Derrick D. Turner, 686-A Herron Rd., Courtland, failed to appear to answer contempt of court-old fines of $549.25 due since September 2013. He had 90 days suspended jail sentence. Al Williams Bonding was notified.
Ricky L. Henderson, 125 Jackson St., Batesville, had his case for contempt of court-old fines due since April 2015 continued.
Kenya K. Smith, 4185, Brighton Dr., Horn Lake, was found guilty of speeding after a short trial.
Thomas Williams Jr., 178-A Travis Rd., Batesville, had a simple assault charge dismissed at the request of the affiant, Chris Cassidy.
“I like it when people work things out,” the judge said.
Tammy Cox, 210 Oak Ave., Como, had a shoplifting case continued.
Ralph C. Pollard Jr., 10 Elm St., Charleston, was represented by attorney Jeff Padgett who came to an agreement with the city’s prosecuting attorney to continue a case for DUI, driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance.
The case will be heard next Wednesday.
