LaDonna Carol Brooks

BATESVILLE––LaDonna Carol Brooks, 53, died Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Merit Health in Batesville.
The famly will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Brooks, born May 27, 1962, to the late Verna Mae and William Glen Carver, in Greenwood, was former Chief of the Vaiden Fire and Police Departments and retired from dispatch at Carroll County EOC. She was a member of the Church of God in Greenwood.
Survivors include: daughter, Jessica Mae Brooks of Batesville; two sisters, Linda Sue Joens and Alice Faye Haley, both of Greenwood; two brothers, Albert Lee Carver of Black Hawk and Carlton Lynn Carver of Madison and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers: the family ask memorial donations be sent to the Town of Vaiden Children’s Park and Nature Trail or the Vaiden Fire Department.

Annie Lucille Carter Kilgore

WATER VALLEY––Annie Lucille Carter Kilgore, 82, died Monday, December 14, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services were held Friday at the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Yalobusha county.
 She was bon June 19, 1933 in Pontotoc, to the late Corbett Cain and Annie Inez Long. She worked as a seamstress for Rice Styx and later for Big Yank in Water Valley. She was a member of Springdale Family Worship Center in Water Valley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Henry Leonard Kilgore, Sr.; and her grandson, Jonathan Shane Kilgore.
Survivors include: daughters, Diann Crocker and Nancy Kelley of Tupelo; her sons, Henry Leonard Kilgore, Jr. and Howard Dean Kilgore of Pope; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Robert Lynn Still

Robert L. Still, 43, died December 16, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
The family will hold private memorial services at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Still, was born July 7, 1972, to Mike Still and Pamela Wilson Still.
Survivors along with his parents include: one son, Shane Sartin of Senatobia; daughter, Megan L. Still of Batesville and three grandchildren.

Valerie Denise Polk Starks-Sykes

COMO––Valerie Denise Polk Starks-Sykes, 55, died December 14, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis.
Servivces were held Saturday at New Sardis M.B. Church. Rev. L. Lasimba M. Gray Jr. officiated. Burial was in Askew Grove M.B. Church Cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home had charge.
She was a former member of Second M.B. Church in Oxford were she sang in choir. She received her bachelor, master and speicialist degrees from the University of Mississippi. She was a member of New Sardis M.B. Church in Memphis where she was in the choir and a member of Sissters Affirming Sisters and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
Survivors include: her hsuband, Greg Sykes of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one daughter, Kerbe Starks-Bibbs of Horn Lake; two sons, Cedric Hilliard of Houston, Texas, Brenan Starks of Memphis, Jakylan Shepherd; one step-son, Sidney Sykes of Marks; two step-daughters, Kristan Bounds of Memphis and Kourntey Bullock of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers, J.C. Kimmons of Omaha, Nebraska; Charles Kimmons of Como; four sisters, Verdis Perry of Omaha, Vernita Polk Williams of Oxford, Beverly Kimmons of Sardis and Sharon Davis of Como and seven grandchildren.

John Robert Throgmorton

POPE––John Robert Throgmorton, 38, died, December 21, 2015 at his home
Funeral services for John will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope. Rev. Rayford Ables will officiate the service. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Born August 21, 1977 to Patricia M. Pickett and the late Walter Throgmorton in Memphisn, loved music, sports, and golf.
Survivors include: his mother Patricia M. Picket of Pope, sister, Ashley Brooke Throgmorton.
