Eva Lavern French 

D’IBERVILLE––Laverne French, 87, formerly of Batesville, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 in D’Iberville. 

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Wells Funeral Home has charge. 

French, born Oct. 4, 1928, in Vardaman to the late Robert and Ida Morrow, was a founding member of First United Pentecostal Church in Batesville. She worked at Fruit of the Loom Inc. until she retired in 1991.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. French.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jo Ann Smith of Wiggins, Marsha “Margie” Cain of Saucier; one son, John Robert French of Courtland; one sister, Judy Moore; three brothers, Billy Morrow, Jimmy Morrow and Roger Morrow; nine grandchildren; 27  great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. 

Charles Richard ‘Rick’ Mills

BATESVILLE––Charles Richard “Rick” Mills, 64, died  Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his residence.

Services were held Sunday at Dickins Funeral Home. Tim Ellis and Hal Johnson officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial  Park Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. 

Mills, born June 30, 1951, to the late Ruby Jean Peek Mills and Albert Pate Mills, was employed by The Panolian where he worked in the circulation department. 

He graduated from South Panola in 1969. He played baseball and softball in school and was an avid Ole Miss football fan and NASCAR fan.

Survivors include: his brothers, James David Mills of Batesville and Albert Lee “Buddy” Mills of Sardis.

Earl Wilson Sr.

SARDIS––Earl Wilson Sr., 99, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Sardis Community Nursing Home. 

Services were held Saturday at New Greater Light Church in Sardis. Burial was in West Tennessee State National Cemetery in Memphis. Henderson Funeral Home had charge.

Wilson, born Dec. 24, 1915, in Harmontown, to the late George Wilson and Ida Greer, served in the Army in WWII and was a retired bus driver.

Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Wilson of Sardis and Martha Wilson, both of Sardis and four sons, Earl Wilson of New York and Earl Wilson II, Charles Wilson and Leroy Wilson, all of Sardis.
