Herman Wesley “Bub” Figgs
BATESVILLE––Herman Wesley “Bub” Figgs, 72, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at his residence.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Great View Bible Baptist Church in Lambert. Visitation will be held today from noon – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Pastor Edgar L. Scurlark will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Figgs, born June 25, 1943, in Batesville, to the late Herman Russell and Mable Lean Figgs (Easley), was a retired construction worker and a member of Great View Bible Baptist Church in Lambert where he was a deacon for 23 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Pearl Figgs of Batesville; two sons, Wesley Figgs of Chicago and Kenny Anderson of Atlanta; five daughters, Shelia Marks of Springfield, Ill., Shetila Marks and Michelle Benson, both of Chicago, Adrienna Roberts of Memphis and Denise Pegues of Oxford; two sisters, Louise Joiner and Ruth Morris, both of Batesville; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Martha Louise (Scruggs) Freeman
COMO––Martha Louise (Scruggs) Freeman, 86, died Monday, October 19, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis had charge.

Freeman, born Jan. 28, 1929, to the late Walter and Elizabeth Scruggs, was an employee of the William Carter Company in Senatobia for more than 40 years as the Quality Control Supervisor.
Survivors include: sons, David Freeman and Bill Freeman, both of Senatobia, Don Freeman of Como and Cliff Freeman of Hernando; daughters, Nanette Patrick of Como and Quaintance McNail of Senatobia; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
