Kicking off the Como Public Library’s Summer Reading Program was the Rising Star Fife and Drum Band, who led a parade in Downtown Como last Friday. Sharde Thomas, granddaughter of famed musician Otha Turner, was joined by drummers Robert Patterson (Otha’s great-grandson, left) and Bill Turner (Otha’s grandson, right).
