Four face shoplifting charges in Batesville City Court

A preliminary hearing was continued per request of a defendant charged with aggravated assault during Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday.
Ocxavious Marques Poole, 225 Butler Rd., Batesville, asked for a continuance. Poole was not out on bond and has old fines of $1,347 due since June 2013.
The judge advised Poole have his old fines paid in full before the next court date set for June 10.
His bond stayed at $50,000.
Vincent Dewayne Bobo, 13 Earnestine Turner, Sardis, entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. He was fined $443.
James Jeremiah Sanford, 1050-B Wells Ext., Courtland, had a charge for malicious mischief dismissed after the affiant, Laneshia Holmes failed to appear to prosecute.
Melvin Polk Jr., 7645 Dorshire Chester, Southaven, entered a not guilty plea to public drunk and disorderly conduct-failure to comply.
A trial was set for June 3.
Everette Riley Mixon, 210 Georgia, Batesville, had charges for domestic violence-simple and malicious mischief dismissed after the affiants, Lisa and Lynn Pearson, failed to appear to prosecute.
Laterrick Dunlap and LaDerrick A. Dunlap, 1475 Hadorn Rd. No. 19, Batesville, had charges for petit larceny and trespassing dismissed after the affiants Thomas Stocks and Ellis Stocks failed to appear to prosecute.
Robert Rudd, 1817 Springport, Sardis, had a charge for petit larceny dismissed after the affiant Walter Hudson failed to appear to prosecute.
Carlton Bernard Raynor Jr., 8417 Curtis Rd., Batesville, paid fines of $348 in full prior to court for embezzlement. He also paid $160 in restitution.
Barry Dean Stevenson, 530 Ross Rd., Lambert, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting from Walmart and was fined $846 with credit for time served while awaiting trial. He was also banned from Walmart.
Alison Naomi Daugherty, 3964 Curtis Rd., Batesville, had a case for shoplifting and old fines continued.
Nina Charelle Patterson, 318 Panola, Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to shoplifting. A trial was set for June 3.
She was sentenced to 90 days in jail after failing to pay old fines due since July 2010. The judge told her she could serve the time while awaiting trial.
Jason Dale West, 20-A Trammel Rd., Batesville, failed to appear to answer DUI-second, child endangerment, running a stop sign and driving while license suspended.
Jabri Marquez Martin, 3713 Seven Rd., Batesville, was sentenced to 60 days in jail after failing to pay fines of $541.
Tabitha D. Pittman, 206 James St., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting-third before her case set for trial.
She previously entered a guilty plea to trespassing at Walmart. Pittman entered the city’s work program in lieu of paying $1,563 in fines. She was also told to stay off Walmart property.
