Arkabutla to host youth raccoon hunt

VICKSBURG – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Arkabutla Lake personnel and the Arkabutla Raccoon Hunting Association will host its annual Youth Raccoon Hunt for area youth aged 10-15 years old on January 30-31st, 2015, February 6-7, and February 13-14. The hunt will be held at the natural area below the dam.

All hunters will be accompanied by a cast member of the Arkabutla Raccoon Hunting Association. Only two parties will be allowed to hunt per night.  Hunters are encouraged to bring flashlight/spotlight, warm clothes, and boots.  Firearms and other equipment will be provided by the Arkabutla Raccoon Hunters Association.  The firearms will be carried by the designated cast member of the Arkabutla Raccoon Hunters Association.

Applications must be received at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office by 3 p.m., Monday, January 19, to be eligible for the drawing.  All state and federal regulations will be enforced.
