Foster signs with CCC

Recent Delta Academy graduate and baseball player Jon Haden Foster, signed to play baseball for the Coahoma Community College Tigers.

Foster, a two sport athlete at Delta, was a three year high school starter.  While lettering two years on the gridiron and three years on the diamond, Foster was a vital part of the Delta baseball team that captured back-to-back District titles, 2013 and 2014.  

Foster racked up 100 innings pitched and 157 strike outs over the last three seasons.  Giving up and average of 2.2 walks per game, Foster’s earned run average, (ERA), was 1.34.  Credited with five no hitters, Foster pitched 10 shut out games during his three year high school playing career at Delta.  Foster’s record stands at 17 wins and 1 loss.

The young pitcher received the district offensive MVP award in baseball and the defensive MVP award in football.

In accepting a scholarship to play baseball at Coahoma Community College near Clarksdale, Foster states that he fells this to be a perfect fit for him.

Foster goes on to say that  the recent addition of CCC Baseball Coach, Lee Hodge, helped him decide on CCC.  The signee said that he looks forward to playing for Coach Hodge and all the coaching staff at CCC.

Foster is the son of Beth Foster of Pope.  He the grandson of Tommy and Sandra Foster of Batesville.
