Red Sox squeak by Yanks; A’s undefeated with 9-2 win

Luke Daniels raced home on a wild pitch to score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Red Sox a 4-3 victory over the Yankees Thursday night in American Legion play.

Daniels provided the Sox (2-1) lone hit with a sixth inning single and also picked up the pitching win in relief of James Kyle Browning and Ryan McCurdy.

Trailing 2-1 heading into their final at bat, Browning led off the inning with a walk then advanced to second on Daniels’ single. Lige Simmerman and Bailey Tatum followed with walks before Daniels sprinted home with the game-winning run.

Dakota Owens gave the Yankees (0-3) a 2-0 lead with a two-run single in top of the second followed by a Casiday RBI single one inning later that plated Anderson Wilder then increased the margin to 3-0. Casiday led the Yankees at the plate with two singles while Owens, Wilder and Luke Ellis provided singles.

The Sox closed the margin to 3-2 in the fifth on five walks and two wild pitches as Tyler Ware and Spencer Davis crossed the plate.

A’s- 9 Royals-2
Cole Rotenberry drilled a two-run inside-the-park homerun while Turner Rotenberry drove in three runs with a pair of doubles and a single to help  the A’s stay unbeaten with a 9-2 victory.
The A’s (3-0) took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the first highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Kyle Campbell. Jeremy McGee added a RBI triple to plate Cole Rotenberry for the first A’s run.

Kyle Weaver singled and scored both of the Royal runs in the first and fourth innings. Chris Brown, Noah Willis, John Riley and Luke Weldon all saw action on the mound for the Royals.
