Fullilove signs with Williams Baptist
By Angie Ledbetter
South Panola senior Landon Fullilove signed to play baseball at Williams Baptist College on Monday in front of a packed crowd of family, friends, teammates and coaches at the media center.
Fullilove has played baseball since he started t-ball and continued playing at school and travel ball all summer with the dream of playing college ball one day.
He played shortstop for the Tigers.
Head South Panola Coach Justin Reed said, “It’s always great to do this as a coach. We’ve had three players to sign so far and expecting two more.”
“This is every little boy’s dream. Even my little boy believes he’s going to play for the Atlanta Braves one day and I hope he does. Fullilove has put in all the hard work for this. He played school ball and traveled playing ball to prepare himself for this day. This is his parent’s day also because they’ve been dedicated and supported Landon during all his years of playing.”
The four year, Christian liberal arts college has over 500 students enrolled at the 200-acre main campus in northeast Arkansas in the community of Walnut Ridge.
Williams Baptist College baseball Coach Frank Lee is entering his third year as head coach for the Eagles. He thanked the South Panola coaches for preparing Fullilove. He also thanked Landon’s parents, Heath and Donna Fullilove for putting in a lot of hard work and hours on the road to help Landon be ready for this day.
“Fullilove is a quality young man from South Panola. When I met him I knew he had skills to play at the next level and it all came from here.”
