Harvey Gayle Bridges
CROWDER — Funeral services for Harvey Gayle Bridges, 63, were Monday at Crowder Assembly of God Church. He passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hopsital in Oxford.

Bro. Murphy Eubanks and Bro. Lucian Young officiated. Interment was at Crowder Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Born in Lambert to the late Gilbert Bernard and Geraldine Calvert Bridges, he was a heavy equipment operator for Midwest Operating Engineers.

He attended Crowder Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Jones Bridges of Crowder; daughters Cristal Harris of Wilson, Ark. and Amanda Daniel of Olive Branch; sons Harvey Gayle Bridges II and Murray Blake Bridges both of Batesville; sisters Donna Scarbrough of Trinity, Ala, Melissa Moore of Crowder; a brother, Gilbert Murray Bridges of Crowder and 11 grandchildren.

Tommy “Bubba” Caine Jr.
BATESVILLE — Funeral services for Tommy “Bubba” Caine, Jr., 39, will be tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel.

Caine passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.
Rev. Terry Caine will preside at the service. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday,  at Wells.

 Interment will be held at Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 6 East of Batesville.
Caine was born April 15, 1974 in Batesville to Tommy Caine, Sr. of Batesville and the late Mertice Evelyn Gregory Caine.

Besides his father, he is also survived by his wife, Theresa Cook Caine of Bateville; step-mother Tina Caine of Batesville; daughter McKenzie Caine of Meridian; two sons, Brandon Snitker of Waverly, Iowa, and Jacob Caine of Meridian; two sisters, Linda Paulette Caine of Vicksburg and Tammy Marie Caine of Wilcox, Ariz., and grandmother Violet Lucas of Batesville.

Alicia Dickson Goodnite
BATESVILLE — Alicia Dickson Goodnite, 61, wife of George Goodnite, passed Sunday morning, January 19, 2014 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, at  Batesville First Baptist Church with interment to follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Sardis.

Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the church and continue until service time.

She was born February 9, 1952 to the late Sarah Kline Dickson and Nolan Stuart Dickson, Jr.
A member of Batesville First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years, and was currently teaching 11th-12th grade girls. She was a member of Explorer’s Bible Study and was active in the Kirois Prison Ministry. Mrs. Goodnite also participated in facilitating and being a part of Walk to Emmaus.

She and her husband, owned Goodnite’s Bakery & Deli.

Besides her husband, she is survived by: two daughters, Laura Ogg of Hernando, and Elizabeth Goodnite of Memphis; a son, Matthew Hardison of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret Leggett of Memphis and Ann Newman of Batesville; five brothers, Stuart Dickson of Colorado Springs, Col., Will Dickson, Jimmy Dickson, and Sam Dickson all of Memphis and Tom Dickson of Senatobia and two grandchildren.

Ina Hollingsworth Lambert
TUNICA — Services for Ina Hollingsworth Lambert, 87, formerly of Sledge and widow of the late Floyd Lambert, will be today, Tuesday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale.

She passed away Saturday, January 18 at Tunica Nursing Home.

The family will receive friends prior to the beginning at 1 p.m. at Wells.

Born to the late Jim and Nannie Barham Hollingsworth on February 1, 1926 in Crump, Tenn., she was a homemaker and member of Assembly of God Church.

She loved to cook, quilt, garden and fish.

She is survived by daughter Faye Lambert Stewart of Tunica; three sons, Ray Lambert of Dallas, Ronnie Lambert of Olive Branch, and Jeff Lambert of Marks; two sisters, Nan Johnson of Poplar Bluff and Neely Hollingsworth of Cordova, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Rose Potts
BATESVILLE — Rose Potts, 79, wife of Jimmy Potts, passed away Monday morning, January 20, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Batesville.

Edward Lee Rowsey
BATESVILLE — Funeral services for Edward Lee Rowsey, Jr., 72, are today, Tuesday, January 21, at 10 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel.

Rowsey, husband of Kathleen Rowsey, passed away Saturday evening, January 18, 2014 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Interment will follow the service at Pisgah United Methodist Cemetery located on Eureka Road.

Born in Panola County March 19, 1941 to Martha Todd Rowsey of Batesville and the late Edward Lee Rowsey, Sr., he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Batesville.
In the 1960’s, Rowsey began working as lumber grader  in Gilmer, Tex., and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966 serving until 1972.

While serving as artilleryman during the Vietnam War, he was taught to fire the high elevation short barrel cannons using the training to reach targets behind cover and in trenches along the Ho’Chi’Mihn’ Trail.

Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Memphis  and worked for Memphis Hardwood Flooring before returning to Batesville to begin a career with the Corps of Engineers at Sardis Lake. He retired in 2004 working his way to Supervisory Park Ranger for the Corps.

Rowsey remained active following his retirement tending cows and hay fields, work that he enjoyed his entire life.

Survivors in addition to his wife of almost 52 years and his mother include: a daughter, Melissa Rowsey Browning (Chuck) of New Albany; Edward Lee Rowsey III, (Natalie) of Pope; a sister, Kay Rowsey Cook of Batesville; two brothers, Dale Rowsey of Batesville and Dan Rowsey of Oxford; and four grandchildren, Travis and Shelby Rowsey and Hunter and Swayze Browning.
