Strong-arm robber sentenced to three years incarceration

A man charged with armed robbery pled guilty to a lesser charge of strong-arm robbery and received three years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections followed by 12 years probation, three reporting and nine non-reporting.

David Eugene Casey, 39, of 411 1/2 Armstrong Street, Batesville, was originally charged then indicted by Panola County Grand Jury when he took  a Kobalt 3/8 in air impact wrench from Lowe’s in Batesville on July 12, 2012 and then exhibited a knife to four named employees.
Circuit Judge Smith Murphey signed the sentencing order June 10.
