Classic cars headed back to Batesville for Catfish Run

About 150 vintage cars and trucks are expected for the Mississippi Delta Street Rods’ annual Catfish Run car show the weekend of June 7-9.

Owners and restorers of pre-1949 vehicles will come from 16 states, according to Street Rods member Darrell Martin of Batesville.

The event will kick off Friday afternoon at the Factory Stores at Batesville, where the automobiles will be on display to the public beginning around 4 p.m.

On Saturday, the show moves to Sardis Lake’s Sleepy Bend camping area for the remainder of the weekend. Sleepy Bend is the first campground on the right as you enter the Corps of Engineers property coming from Sardis. The event has moved from its traditional location at Cypress Point.
The show offers a $500 grand prize for the best entry, plus door prizes, plaques, and games for adults and children.

Funds raised through the Catfish Run and other activities sponsored by the Delta Street Rods go to a number of charitable causes, including the Baptist Children’s Village.
