Three marijuana cases come before city judge this week

Judge Bill McKenzie notified bonding companies after several defendants failed to appear to answer charges during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday.

Joshua Putt, 92 Springhill Rd., Grenada, failed to appear to answer charges for open container, careless driving and expired tag. Fox Bonding was notified.

Jaron T. Bishop, 134 Martinez, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to possession of marijuana. He entered the city’s work release program for seven days in lieu of paying $430.

Terrie T. Dodd, 934-A Plum Point, Pope, entered a guilty plea to possession of marijuana. He was fined $430.

Sabrina Diltz, 301 South Bluff St., Charleston, failed to appear to answer false reporting of a crime. Al Williams Bonding was notified.

Ranier Young, 218 Broadway, Batesville, had a simple assault case dismissed after the affiant, Christopher Scott, failed to appear to prosecute. The case dated back three years.

Charlene Smith, 115 Autumn, Batesville, had a simple assault case dismissed after the affiant, Latoya Fondren, failed to appear.

The judge issued a warrant for Dillard Lee Roach, 211 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, after the defendant failed to appear to answer domestic violence-simple assault charges.

Nathon Boyd, 748 Chapeltown Rd., Batesville, was charged with three counts of petit larceny. He entered a guilty plea to one charge but said he was not guilty of the other two charges. A trial was set for March 20.

Joseph Alred, Hwy. 51 North, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to two counts of petit larceny. He also had old fines of $907.50 that have been due since December 2012. He entered the city’s work program for 28 days to satisfy his fines.

Nellie Willoughby, 221 Vance St., Batesville, had a case of public drunk continued.

Christopher Brown Jr., 1042 Morrow Rd., Courtland, entered a guilty plea to DUI. He was fined $1,719.
Deshaun Lockwood, 149 Victory Rd., Courtland, had a case continued for DUI-second, no driver’s license and old fines of $1,676.25 that have been due since October 2012.

He will return with an attorney announcement.

Keunte D. Turner, 6462- A Barnacre, Batesville, had a probable cause hearing set for March 20 for felony possession of marijuana with intent, disorderly conduct-failure to comply and old fines of $1,144 that have been due since September 2011.

Shaquilla R. Rawlings, 441 Dorset Lane, Jacksonville, Ill., was fined $605 for no proof of insurance.

Jermaine Wright, 1965 Woodruff Rd., Batesville, was fined $381 for driving while license suspended.
 
Robert Gladney, Batesville, was fined $381 for driving while license suspended.
