Football  openings inspire ‘Frenzy’

By John Howell Sr.

Batesville aldermen unanimously approved a “Fall Football Frenzy” for the Square on Friday, August 10. Main Street Manager Colleen Clark sought city officials’ permission for “community tailgating” party for South Panola, Pope and North Delta football prior to season openings.

The newly-organized Batesville Young Professionals (BYP) will help with the football frenzy, Clark said.
The third annual “Showoff on the Square” featuring classic vehicles is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, the Main Street director said.
