“Growing in the spirit of Bobbie Jean Pounders.”

Pounders was a driving force behind the establishment of the farmers market in 2010. A former city alderman and longtime civic activist, Pounders died earlier this year.

A short program will pay tribute to Pounders according to Colleen Clark, Batesville Main Street manager and director of the market.

Clark said she expects 15-20 vendors for opening day, with regulars returning for a third year.

The market operates on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-5:30 from June through October.
