North Delta took the short trek to Marks and came away with four victories in high school basketball play over Delta Academy Thursday afternoon.
The Green Wave junior high girls and boys posted easy victories as the Lady Green Wave eased past Delta 28-8 behind 14 points from Janie Brasell. Shelby Province and Ginger Stevens followed with four points. Hailey Lamm collected three points while Anna Lloyd and Sarah Johnson finished with two and one point each.
Bailey Sullivant scored 13 points in leading the Junior High boys to a 38-29 triumph. Ridge Simmerman followed with 12 points with Will Kidder and Will Hartzell contributing with five points each.
In varsity play, the No. 4 ranked Lady Wave outscored Delta 16-2 in the fourth period in route to a 56-29 win over the Raiders.
Bradi Beard led the way with 14 points and four steals followed by Laci DuBravec with 12 points. Hanna Greenlee had 10 points and six boards to help guide North Delta (21-8) to their sixth win in row. Katelyn Still dished out six assists to go along with nine points.
Other scorers included Hastings Neal, five points; Peyton Rico, three points; Charla Darby, two points; and Callie Blake Masterson, one point.
Morgan Shook led Delta, the No. 3 ranked team in 1A with 19 points.
The North Delta boys closed out the night with a 55-44 victory behind Renic Geenlee’s 25 points and seven rebounds. Sam Copeland posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Wave improved to 4-15 on the season.
Jonathan Mackey provided seven points followed by Hunt Howell’s five points. Tylor Lee and Colby Pirtle rounded out the scoring with four points.
North Delta will host Indianola today starting at 3 p.m. with seventh grade boys play.
