Batesville police were seeking help Friday morning to identify and locate a black male who robbed a Mr. Jiffy store Thursday night.
The robber displayed a firearm to a store clerk at the Pearson Street location and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, said BPD Detective George Williford.
The robber was described as a “tall slender black male.” He was wearing dark clothes, possibly all black, said the detective.
The police department is also seeking tips through Crime Stoppers, the crime-fighting program that collects tips from anonymous sources.
Williford said Crime Stoppers will pay $1,000 for a credible tip that leads to the arrest and conviction of last night’s armed robber.
The Batesville Police Department is also paying another $1,000, he said.
The Crime Stoppers number is 1-800-729-2169. You do not have to give your name when you call.
