Riley Louie Coleman

COURTLAND – Riley Louie Coleman, 73, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Baptist Memorial East Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation  will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday. Rev. Tim Morgan will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Riley was born October 28, 1938 in Calhoun County to the late Joe Louie and Mytrice Irene Landreth Coleman. Coleman was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church and was a carpenter. He served his country and was honorably discharge from the National Guard.

Survivors include: two daughters, Anita Coleman Avalos of Byhalia, Angela Coleman Barton of Courtland; one son, Riley Matthew Coleman of Batesville; sister, Estha Mae Parker of Banner; two brothers, Eldridge Coleman and Wayne Coleman, both of Coffeeville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Lucious Davis Jr.

SENATOBIA – Lucious Davis Jr., 69, died Friday, November 18, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto. He was the brother of Joe L. Davis of Sardis.

Services will be Saturday at Beulah M.B. Church in Como. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.

Davis was a member of Beulah Church and a landscaper.

Survivors, along his brother, include: two daughters, Dorothy Renee Wright of Senatobia and Gail Wright of Memphis; four sons, Jimmie Wright, Charlie Wright, Calvin Wright, all of Senatobia, and Greg Wright of Southaven; two sisters, Josephine Butler and Minnie Pearl, both of Senatobia; one brother, Willie Davis of Senatobia; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Derryal G. Gates

RULEVILLE – Derryal G. Gates, 69, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Ruleville Nursing Home.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scott Urban will officiate. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Gates, born Nov. 10, 1942, to the late Melvin Conrad and Ola Kellett Gates, was a farmer and a member of the Cleveland Church of Christ.

Survivors include: his wife, Gloria Hale Gates of Courtland; one daughter, Marsha Gates Williams of Courtland; two sons, Kenneth T. Gates of Pope and Justin G. Gates of Stuttgart, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Eddie B. Pittman

COMO – Eddie B. Pittman, 47, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Baptist Memorial-Desoto.

Services were Saturday at Hunter Chapel M.B. Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Pittman, son of Lucy Mae White of Senatobia and J. W. White of Houston, was an assembly line worker at Batesville Casket Company and a member of Hunter Chapel M.B. Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one daughter, Janiya Pittman of Como; three sons, Antwuamn Wright of Foley, Ala., Francisco Wright of Como and Dexter McGhee of Senatobia; two sisters, Brenda White and Pearlean White, both of Houston and four brothers, John I. White, Willie C. White and  Bobby White, all of Houston and Willie S. Loveberry of Sardis.

Diana Sue Liniger Moore

BATESVILLE – Diana Sue Liniger Moore, 55, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at her residence.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Batesville. Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate. Burial is in Magnolia Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Moore, born Feb. 26, 1956, in Pheonix, Ariz., to the late Donald Wayne and Emma Jean Tumbleson Liniger, was the co-owner of Special T’s. She worked as a secretary in the retail industry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband of 36 years, Philip Moore of Batesville; one son, Jeremy Moore of Batesville; two sisters, Debbi Mingus and Dawn Kuykendall, both of Phoenix; two brothers, David Liniger and Daniel Liniger of Phoenix.
