SARDIS – William “Danny” Daniel Edlin, 54, died Friday, October 28, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.
Services were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home. Hal Johnson officiated. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Sardis. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Edlin was born Sept. 17, 1957, to the late Lonnie Clayton and Cora Dell Appleton Edlin.
Survivors include: one daughter, Brittney Edlin Dulin of Batesville; one son, Cody Edlin of Batesville; four sisters, Cammie Edlin Simmerman, Kay Edlin Goforth, Ann Edlin Hall, all of Sardis and Jane Edlin Hall of Senatobia and one brother, Lonnie Edlin of Sardis.
The family requests any memorials be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 23932 Hwy. 315, Sardis, Miss. 38666.
CROWDER – Betty Jean Miller Gazaway, 66, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at her residence.
Services were Saturday at Crowder Baptist Church. Burial was in Crowder Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Gazaway, born Jan. 18, 1945, in Vaiden, to the late George Franklin and Carrie Self Miller, was a homemaker and a member of Crowder Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband of 45 years, James Ellis Gazaway of Crowder; one daughter, Wendy Gazaway Snyder of Crowder; one son, James DeWayne Gazaway of Crowder; one sister, Sarah Castleberry of Grenada; one brother, George Edward Miller of Alabama; three grandchildren, Kathleen Snyder, Amber Gazaway and Jayson Gazaway; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Gazaway, Cole Gazaway and Gracelyn Snyder.

COMO – Gabrielle Jordan Holland, 7, and her sister, Gracie Joy Holland, 2, died Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial will follow in Peach Creek Cemetery.
Gabrielle and Gracie attended Peach Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include their parents, David and Jennifer Holland of Como; grandparents, Sherman and Linda Greer of Como and Bert and Fonda Holland of Atoka, Tenn.; and great-grandmother, Irene Blayds of Memphis.
BATESVILLE – Velma West Sparks, 98, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Fairfield Assisted Living Home.
Services were held Sunday in the Lee Chapel of First Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Self and Dr. Tommy Snyder officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Sparks, born June 23, 1913, in Cedartown, Ga., to the late David and Lou Etta Hale West, was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Sparks and her son, Jerry C. Sparks.
Survivors include: two daughters, Julia Faye Durant of Alpine, Texas and Janice Barrett of Locust Grove, Ga.
