Hewlett G. Hubbard

BATESVILLE – Hewlett G. Hubbard, 83, husband of Sally Jo Hawkins Hubbard, died Saturday morning October 1, 2011 in St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Services were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home with burial  in Shiloh Cemetery. Reverend Doug Sullivan-Gonzalez officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Hubbard was born October 11, 1927 in Pope, to the late Guy Hewlett and Ada Pitcock Hubbard. Hewlett was a member of Independence Presbyterian Church and was the retired manager of Gagliano’s in Memphis. After retiring and moving to Batesville, he enjoyed driving a school bus for South Panola School District. He was also an avid Ole Miss and South Panola Football fan.

Survivors include: his wife, Sally Jo Hawkins Hubbard of Batesville, MS; son, Robert Guy “Bob” Hubbard of Hot Springs, Ark.; daughter, Renee Hubbard Dunn of Memphis, TN; three grandchildre and two great-grandchildren.

Paul Harris Whitehorn

POPE – Paul Harris Whitehorn, age 83, died Friday morning, September 30, 2011, at his home in Pope.
Services were held  Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jay Anderson and Reverend John Stewart officiating.  Burial was in Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Mr. Whitehorn was born on April 9, 1928 to Edgar and  Ruth McCormick Whitehorn. He worked for International Harvester as a grinder for 21 years. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope.

Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Ann “Pat” Pickens Whitehorn of Pope; two daughters, Debbie Whitehorn Wilkins of Atoka, Tenn., Pam Richardson Franks of Lakeland, Tenn.; two sons, Randy Richardson of Pope, Lance Richardson of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY; sister, Mary Ann McDow Muck of Arvada, Colo.; brother, Charles Whitehorn of Eads, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Paul T. Whitehorn and Richard Lynn Whitehorn.
