Drive-by shooting arrests in Como

A drive-by shooting on Railroad Street in Como on Sunday afternoon resulted in the injury of one person and several residences hit. Five people were arrested following the shooting, first reported on a 911 call about 6:45 p.m.
Officers found one male subject with a gunshot wound at the scene. Como Police said the man injured was the target of the drive-by and the altercation was the result of an argument between known gang members.
The man targeted in the shooting has been released from Baptist DeSoto Hospital.
Como Police thanked the Panola County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments in Sardis, Batesville, and Senatobia for their assistance in apprehending the alleged shooters, each of whom is charged with drive-by shooting, aggravated assault, and conspiracy. Their names and addresses are listed in the Jail Log of this week’s edition.
