Jail fence

Miss. Department of Corrections inmates are presently erecting 440 feet of eight-foot-high fencing at the Panola County jail. The fence will surround a building that houses trusties who participate in a state-county work program. Two of those inmates escaped late last year, prompting the department to seek better security. Sheriff Otis Griffin said he also wants approximately 300 feet of fencing for a portion of the jail grounds that presently is open and allows potential for escape. The sherif
