Batesville Observes Memorial Day

Batesville Boy Scouts Reef Robertson (left) and Jakob Caldwell escort U.S. Army Reserve Brigadier General Margaret Barnes (Ret.) as she prepares to lay a wreath of remembrance at the memorial monument on the downtown Square. The Exchange Club of Batesville presented the Memorial Day program that included a welcome by Mayor Hal Ferrell, posting of colors by Troop 478, a rendition of “That Ragged Old Flag” by Clint Roberson, song “The Red, White, and Blue” by John Ard (MSG, Ret.), and playing of “Taps” by Leroy Matthews (SFC, Ret.). Minister Ed Casteel and Rev. Troy Smith delivered the invocation and benediction. Sarah Dale Shaffer sang the National Anthem. The chairman for the Exchange program was Keith Ales (CSM, Ret.)
