Lady Tigers are district champs; Lady Cougars are runner up


The South Panola Lady Tigers stomped Starkville 67-51 to claim the 2-6A District Championship Friday night in Tupelo. The Lady Tigers will host Murrah in the first round of the north state championship Monday night at 7 p.m.

If the Lady Tigers win, they will move on to the second round Thursday night.  Northwest Rankin or Horn Lake will host the remainder of the North State Tournament.

The North Panola Lady Cougars lost a big first half advantage and the lead to Lafayette County in the 2-4A District Championship game Saturday night. The Lady Cougars were going for a 3-peat district championship title, but have to settle for runner up.

North Panola will host Greenwood in the first round of the North State Tournament Monday night at 7 p.m. If the Lady Cougars win, the remainder of the North State Tournament will be held at New Albany or Lafayette County.
