W.T. “Billy” Wilson, 78

W.T. “Billy” Wilson,  78, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at his home in Walls.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Billy was born on August 15, 1943 to the late Geneva Grace Duvall and Wilbur T. Wilson, Sr. in Itta Bena. Billy was a retired truck driver for Consolidated Freightways out of Memphis where he worked for 21 years. He also honorably served in the Army National Guard. Billy had a special love for animals and he enjoyed watching football and riding his motorcycle.

For years, Billy volunteered at the Tunica Humane Society. He was always there to help out and share his heart and his lap with the dogs. Billy was always so kind and soft spoken and everyone that met him, instantly loved him. The Tunica Humane Society will never forget Billy and all the love and kindness he brought to the table there.

The family Billy leaves behind includes his daughter, Jerri Wilson (Mallory) of Atlanta, GA; and one brother, Charles Appleton of Batesville.

Billy is preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Grace Duvall Appleton; his father, Wilbur T. Wilson, Sr.; one sister, Linda Sorrells; and two of his brothers, Pete Sullivan and Phil Appleton.
