By Rita Howell
A Como man was found guilty of manslaughter on Tuesday following a two-day trial in Sardis before Judge Andrew C. Baker.
Clarence Dewayne Burton, 26, was convicted in the shooting death of Johnny Wesley, 41, on Lucius Taylor Road on the afternoon of October 21, 2005.
Wesley was shot once in the side of the head following a middle-of-the-road altercation that involved several people.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Burton, who was represented by David Walker, is incarcerated at the Panola County Jail awaiting sentencing.
The manslaughter conviction carries up to 20 years in prison, Assistant District Attorney Jay Hale said.
