By Jason C. Mattox

A Panola County grand jury will hear evidence about an alleged homicide that took place last Sunday.

No arrests had been made in the case by Monday, said Panola sheriff’s investigator Barry Thompson.

Thompson said last week that Rodriquez Williams was found dead in his home on Connie Ross Road Sunday afternoon.

Thompson added that the investigation has been turned over the District Attorney’s office and “is going to be presented to the grand jury,” he said.

Under Mississippi criminal law, an investigation allows for an immediate arrest or for evidence to be presented to a grand jury for an indictment.

Assistant District Attorney Jay Hale, also reached Monday, said he would not comment on an open investigation.
