ND Jr. High ladies win tournament, remain undefeated

North Delta Jr. High Lady Waves remain undefeated with a 7-0 record after winning the Winona Invitational Tournament Saturday, November 1.

There were nine junior high teams and nine varsity teams in the tournament.

The Jr. High Lady Waves defeated Emmanuel in the first game 30-8.

Leaders were Bradi Beard, 11 points, 12 tips and 12 steals for a triple double; Katelyn Still, six points, seven tips and four steals.   

In the second game the Lady Green Wave defeated Heritage Academy in a defensive battle, 21-15.

Leaders were Beard, seven points, 10 tips and five steals; Hanna Greenlee, seven points, seven rebounds, five tips and three steals; Still, six points, four rebounds, three tips, four steals.  

In the championship game against Oak Hill, the Lady Waves dominated from the tip to the final buzzer with a 39-25 win.

Leaders were Beard, 16 points, 10 rebounds, seven tips, and four steals for a double-double; Hannah Waldrip, eight points; and Greenlee, six points, five rebounds; Laci Dubravec, five points, five steals, and three assists; and Jordan Pointer, four points and three rebounds.

In the opening game of the regular season against Calhoun Tuesday, the Jr. High Lady Waves won 35-22.

Leading scorers were Dubravec, 12 points; Still, eight points; and Greenlee, seven points.
The Lady Waves will be back in action Tuesday to host Winona starting at 4 p.m.
