Batesville Junior Woman’s League attends 121st MFWC convention

The Batesville Junior Woman’s League joined other club women from the GFWC Mississippi Federation of Women’s Clubs (MFWC) to participate in the 121ST annual MFWC State Convention held recently in Starkville.

The Batesville Junior Woman’s earned several club awards at the convention in Starkville.  They received the 2018 Club History Award, Honor Club Recognition, earned 1stplace in GFWC Signature Project: Domestic Violence Prevention & Awareness, 1stplace in ESO (Epsilon Sigma Omicron), and 2ndplace in Communications & Public Relations.  BJWL also earned second place in the President’s Special Project: Brag Board.  In the MFWC Youth Art Contest three of the club’s entries won awards:  1stplace, Kayla Bowdin, 2ndplace, Abbi Pittman and 3rdplace, Kira Simmons.    

Speakers for the convention included Mississippi author Laurie Parker, Leilani Salter, and GFWC International President Mary Ellen Brock.
