The South Panola Lady Tigers played hard against Oxford and walked away with a 10-0 win.
However, it was not enough to secure the district championship for them.
Because South Panola (11-11-1 overall, 5-1 district) and Tupelo (15-4, 5-1) defeated each other by three points, the system had to go to the fourth tiebreaker, according to Lady Tiger head coach Ashleigh Hicks.
The fourth tier is: Point differential allowed in the region games involving the highest ranked or seeded teams, according to the Miss. High School Activities handbook.
South Panola allowed 11 points to regional opponents while Tupelo only allowed nine.
The Tigers now turn their sites to playing Greenville today in a double header play-in games for the playoffs beginning at 4 p.m.
With a win, the first round playoffs will begin Monday at home, times and team to be determined.
