The following cases were heard in Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday, Feb. 5, with Judge Jay Westfaul presiding.

Steve Hicks, 110 MLK Dr., Batesville, failed to appear on a charge of public drunkenness and non-payment of old fines totaling $1,289.

Justice K. Poole, 105 Lester St., Batesville, was found guilty of simple possession of marijuana and fined $443.

Joe F. Mosley, Jr. 205 Lester St., Batesville, was found guilty of malicious mischief and fined $328 plus $300 in restitution.

Courtney Strong, 205 Lester St., Batesville, had simple assault charges dismissed due to lack of prosecution, but was ordered to pay $967 in old fines.

Jocques Turner, 218 Pearson St., Batesville, pleaded guilty to simple assault and was fined $328.

Sherita C. Hudson, 221 N. Ventura, Jefferson City, Mo., was found guilty of shoplifting and fined $1,146.

Kelsey Kimzey, 1436 Terza Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was fined $1,146.

April J. Burney, 585 Perkins St., Crowder, failed to appear for the second time on a shoplifting charge.

Michael Phillips, 147 Bellwood Dr., Pineville, La., failed to appear for the second time on a shoplifting charge.

Lashanda G. Tucker, 111 Graham Rd., Sardis, pleaded not guilty to shoplifting, but was ordered to pay $205 in old fines. She will have a trial later for the shoplifting charge.

Brooklyn Caine, 384 Pine Lodge Rd., Batesville, had a charge of improper equipment remanded to the files, but was fined $381 for driving with a suspended drivers license.

Haley McCollum, 2518 Belmont Rd., Sardis, failed to appear on a contempt of court charge.

Jamarlin Ladd, 1105-B Hawkins Rd., Courtland, failed to appear on contempt of court charges.

Jonathan Griffin, 151 Love Ave., Crowder, had a contempt of court charge remanded to the files.

In cases set for trial,

Jestin Owens, 39 Coon Butler Rd., Sardis, had a case of domestic violence continued.

Saraka Chapman, 460 Flowers Rd., Batesville, had a simple assault case continued.

Denesha Keys, 408 Wesson St.,Como, had a case of simple assault and domestic violence continued.

Tracy L. Morris, 11240 Curtis Rd., Batesville, had a DUI case continued.
