The last Sunday in 2018, I took several women out to dine and fellowship with one another. We came together at Chowtime in Oxford.

Each person enjoyed talking and laughing together as they ate each morsel of food. These women enjoy serving God and their fellowman. Here are tidbits about each of them.

Delosha Griffin, 80 plus years of age, started driving at 60 years of age. She drives down from Memphis three to four times a month on Sundays, to attend her church (weather permitting).

She never complains about being inconvenienced. Delosha loves being in the service of others.

Sheryl Clark, novelist, came with her granddaughter to be in her presence.

Fannie Diggs, from Crowder, is the proud mother of 16 children.  She’s coming into the age of 80 years looking more like she could be one of her own children. Although she enjoys being wife and mother, she also loves farming and raising chickens. She’s a prayer warrior and teacher of the Word of God.

Betty Johnson of Oakland enjoys her services to those in need. She provides new, used, well preserved items to fit every need and size. She also provides soft drinks after service when the weather is very warm. Betty sees the need and goes out of her way to be a blessing to all.

Patricia Jackson from the Teasdale neighborhood, a woman of prayer, enjoys teaching Sunday School to adults. One of her cherished duties I believe is that she enjoys bringing her son and two grandchildren (teenagers) to Sunday School and 11 o’clock service. Patricia is a willing worker who enjoy stepping in when needed.

Patricia Coleman from Charleston loves her role as a person of hospitality and being there for her pastor and wife. She has the smile of an angel that lifts the spirit of those around her.

Each one of these ladies have something special to give to family and friends. I’m glad I’m one of them. Let your light shine so that others may see the wonder of your passion.

Take time to enjoy a meal together. Enjoy the spirit of communication.
