Trio held in mini-storage break-ins

Three Panola County residents are being held in jail on burglary, grand larceny, and receiving stolen property charges.
With their arrests, Batesville Police believe they have stopped a burglary ring that targeted mini-storage buildings and businesses.
Amy D. Roebuck and Christopher Pruett, both listed at 236-B Henry Heafner Rd., and Jacob T. Emery, of 183 Chrestman Cv., were bound over to the Grand Jury during Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday.
Judge Jay Westfaul declined to lower bail for the trio after Det. George Williford asked the court to consider keeping Pruett’s and Emery’s bail set at $100,000, and Roebuck’s at $10,000.
Williford said the accused aren’t necessarily a flight risk, but that police think they will return to burglary if released.
Pruett and Emery are each charged with burglary and grand larceny, and Roebuck is charged with receiving stolen property.
Local investigators, including sheriff’s deputies, have received about 20 reports of damaged and burglarized mini-storage units in the past few weeks, and have worked hard to find the perpetrators.
Williford said police are still receiving calls about break-ins as mini-storage customers are finding their units have been burglarized.
