A former resident of Austin, Jim had resided in Lufkin since April of this year. He was a computer programmer for Accenture, Inc. Jim was a member of the High Point Fellowship Church in Austin, and attended Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin.
Those of us who knew Jim loved him. He was just that kind of person. He was a big “teddy bear,” and always greeted you with a big “larger than life” smile that immediately put you at ease. Jim especially loved his wife and son with every fiber of his being. In their nearly fifteen years of marriage, whenever you saw Amy, you usually saw Jim right by her side holding her hand. He simply LOVED his wife.
Jim also had an extreme fondness for all things electronic. Whether it be computers, big screen TVs, cell phones, ipods, DVDs…to Jim, electronics were the ultimate!
Many friends as well as family from Mississippi, Arkansas, Oregon, California, Texas and many points in between will miss Jim.
We love you Jim, and we know that you are in a better place where there is no pain and no suffering. Upon your passing, without a doubt God welcomed you home and said, “Well done My good and faithful servant. Welcome home!”
Jim was a devoted Christian, wonderful husband, loving father, fun-loving uncle, dutiful son, caring friend and hard worker. He truly impacted us all. We will miss you! You may be gone, but not forgotten. You will always have a special and irreplaceable place in the hearts of many.

Carr, Sr. of Batesville, Mississippi; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duane and Angie Hartman of Lufkin; niece, Ashley Newman; nephews, Sam Hartman, Robert Hartman and Tyler Hartman; mother-in-law, Mary G.
