By Emily Williams The Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Mississippi Unit will host its first Boys and Girls Club Coronation Ball and crowning of Miss BGC of Batesville on Thursday, November 16 at 6 p.m. at the Batesville Boys and Girls Club. Admission is $2 at the door.
The program activities will include entertainment, presentation of coronation court and crowning of Miss BGC.
Batesville attorney Adam Pittman will serve as master of ceremonies.
The 10 young ladies competing for the crown include: Tra’Kiffany Anderson, Aerielle McDaniel, Anjarre’Ka Mister, 8, Jacambria Griffin, 7, Nautica Edwards, 7, Kiearra Whitehead, 9, Kelsi Ford, 7, Savannah Irwin, 11, Kenya Bobo, 10, and Carla Brown, 11.
Each contestant is working in the community to raise funds for their club programs and all proceeds will benefit the Batesville Boys and Girls Club.
Requirements for contestants include making good grades and raising a minimum of $200 in donations from the community, according to a Boys and Girls Club spokesman.
The girls’ attire will include a white dress, white shoes and white gloves.
They will be given a question to answer by the emcee as a part of the scoring process and the competition will be based on grace, presentation of self, attire, amount of money raised and club points from peers. |
