Rebels to host Miami Hurricanes in Super Regional beginning Sat. |
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss (43-20) will host its second-straight NCAA Super Regional beginning on Saturday, when the Rebels will play host to the Miami Hurricanes (39-21) in a best of three series to be played at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.
All three games are slated for a 6 p.m. CDT start and will be televised by ESPN2 and ESPNU.
"We are excited to host our second-straight Super Regional," said Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco. "It’s a tremendous accomplishment and has certainly been one of our goals this season. To host back-to-back Super Regionals and three-straight Regionals says a lot about where we are as a program."
The Rebels advanced to the Super Regional after claiming the NCAA Oxford Regional on Sunday with a 12-4 win over second-seeded Tulane. Ole Miss has been led in the post-season by several players including Regional MVP Justin Brashear and Mark Wright.
Wright has been hot for the Rebels in the post-season, claiming SEC Tournament MVP honors after breaking the tournament record for RBI with 13. He continued his record breaking performances with seven RBI to make him the single-season RBI leader all-time at Ole Miss with 72 RBI on the season.
General admission tickets in standing room only are on sale for the Super Regional, as the reserved seating in the grandstand has been sold out. Ticket books which include entry to all of the weekend’s games are available for $20. Single-game general admission tickets in standing room only are available for $12. College students and children high school age and younger can purchase single-game tickets for $7. All tickets are available through the Ole Miss Ticket Office.
Tickets can be picked up Saturday before the game at the football ticket office located next to the Starnes Center on All-American Drive.
Any tickets that go unclaimed after Saturday’s game must be picked up at the Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field ticket office, and will be available two hours prior to game time on Sunday.
Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling the Ole Miss Ticket Office at 662-915-7167 or 1-888-732-8857 for in-state calls. |
