Vanlandingham, Sybil Kathlyn Stone
Sybil Kathlyn Stone Vanlandingham, 87, of Batesville, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.
Services were Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Lambert Cemetery. Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Jerry Wages officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Vanlandingham, born Jan. 22, 1916, to the late John Lenon and the late Lula Jones Stone, was a homemaker and a member of Tutwiler United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Elmer Vanlandingham.
Survivors include one son Roger D. Vanlandingham of Oakland; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Vick, Rose Ross
Rose Ross Vick, 69, of Houston, Texas, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Houston Hospice in Houston, Texas.
Services were Monday at Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial was at Oxford Memorial Cemetery in Oxford.
Vick was a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church and the Baylor Women’s Faculty Club.
Survivors include her husband Robert L. Vick of Houston, Texas; one daughter Suzanne Vick Ryan of Coppell, Texas; her mother Corine Ross of Oxford; one sister Lelia Ross McNickle of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, David E. Ross of Oxford and Stanford Lynn Ross of Jackson and one grandson.

Vowell, Vernon L.
Vernon L. Vowell, 78, of Batesville, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at the Veterans Home in Oxford.
Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial is at Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Vowell, born April 23, 1925, to the late Harvey C. and the late Estelle Massey Vowell, was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the Army where he received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Battle Stars, was a retired quality control foreman for EmHart Corporation of Clarksdale, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Batesville.
Survivors include one daughter Shirley Vowell Burt of Hamilton, Ala.; one son Dennis W. Vowell of Ridgeland; two brothers, Dallas Vowell of Denver, Colo. and Orville Vowell of Grove, Okla.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Vrooman, Albert George Sr.
Albert George Vrooman Sr., 74, died Monday, May 28, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven.
Funeral services were Thursday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery. Rev. Gary Burckaki officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Vrooman, born Oct. 15, 1928, to the late William Arthur and Mary Williams Vrooman, was a retired Air Force Master Sgt. and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Memphis.
Vrooman was preceded in death by his two brothers, Arthur Vrooman Jr. and Dan Vrooman.
Survivors include three daughters, Lila Vrooman Pantaleo of Miami Beach, Fla., Laura Vrooman Love of Oxford and Linda Vrooman Bozant of Jackson; two sons, Albert George Vrooman Jr. of Joplin, Mo., and William Vrooman of Southaven; two sisters Margaret Vrooman Hood of Scobia and Elizabeth Vrooman Nesselrodt of Lilbourne, Mo., and five grandchildren.
