Kearney, Earline Furr
Earline Furr Kearney, 84, of Batesville, died Thursday, August 29, 2002, at Beverly Health Care of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 31, at 2 p.m. at Lee Chapel First Baptist Church in Batesville. Burial was in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Kearney, daughter of the late Ebbert Earl and Ruby Mae Branscome Furr, was born November 29, 1917, in Panola County. She was the widow of Hugh Glenn Kearney She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Keen Agers and the Woman’s Missionary Union.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne K. Hood of Nesbit and Glenda K. Henry of Franklin, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Johnathan Kearney Wright and Molly Kathryn Henry, both of Franklin, and Kelley Anne Henry of Memphis, Tennessee; and a great-grandchild, Joshua Kearney Wright of Franklin.

Keating, Agnes Louise
Agnes Louise ‘Tag’ Keating, 86, of Sardis, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Methodist Hospital – Central in Memphis, Tennessee, of cancer.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sardis. Rev. Jerry Sanford officiated the service. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Keating, daughter of the late John Henry and Clara Bell Clark Howell, was born November 28, 1915, in Greenville. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Bernie Keating.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy K. Bove of Burlington, Vermont; two sons, R. Ford Keating of Austin, Texas, and Paul Keating of Eads, Tennessee; a sister, Gladys Long of Lafayette, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kennedy, Blanche Tolson
Blanche Tolson Kennedy, 92, of Batesville, died Saturday, August 17, 2002, at her home of heart failure.
Graveside services were held Monday, August 19, at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Jon Burnham officiated the service. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Kennedy, daughter of the late Wilmer Lyle and Mary Eva Carnathan Kennedy, was born June 7, 1910, in Oxford. She was an associate of the USO for many years and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Batesville
She leaves no survivors.
Kereczman, Vivian Ramsey
Vivian Ramsey Kereczman, 85, of Sardis, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Senior Services in Memphis, Tennessee, of heart failure.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, at 2 PM at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Kereczman was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Charles Kereczman.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsey Muse Pugh of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mary Muse Lansdale of Tyler, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Killion, Jacqueline Broadnax
Jacqueline Broadnax Killion, 31, of Sardis, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. James Buchanan officiated the service. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary, Inc. had charge of arrangements.
Killion, daughter of Charles Broadnax of Decatur, Illinois and Forestine Luckett of Sardis, was born November 27, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan. She was a member of Rock Hill M.B. Church.
Survivors, other than her parents, include a son, Micheal Broadnax of Sardis; two daughters, Bianca S. Broadnax and Brittney J. Broadnax, both of Sardis; a grandmother, Earnestine Butler of Sardis; a brother, Charles Broadnax, Jr. of Sardis; and two sisters, Marilyn Broadnax and Jimicka Luckett, both of Sardis.
Kimp, Bobby Joe
Bobby Joe Kimp, 68, of Sardis, died Sunday, September 29, 2002, at his home of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 3, at 2 p.m. at McDonald United Methodist Church in Pontotoc. Rev. Gloria McKinney officiated the service. Burial was in Pontotoc City Cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Kimp, a native of Pontotoc, was a graduate of Mississippi Industrial College. He was a retired history and math teacher for Panola County schools, where he taught for 29 and a half years. He was a park ranger at Enid Lake for 27 years. He was a member of Magnolia Lodge No. 58 and McDonald United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Kimp of Sardis; a daughter, Cheryl Haynes of Jackson; three sons, James Stanley Hogan of Atlanta, Georgia, Robert T. Kimp of Magnolia, and Joseph Dwayne Kimp of Sardis; a foster son, Kenneth Lee Small of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Ada Bell Dogan of Pontotoc, Joyce Addison of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Barbara Moore of Springfield, Illinois; two brothers, Lamar Kimp and Charles Kimp, both of Pontotoc; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
King, Calvin Jones Jr.
Calvin Jones King, Jr., 92, of Batesville, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at his residence of heart failure.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 22, 2002 ,at 2 p.m. at Batesville Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Batesville-Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Jon Burnham will officiate services. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
King, son of the late Walter Lee King and Catherine "Kate" Keys King, was born October 14, 1910 in Panola County. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Mississippi Highway Department and a retired cattleman and farmer. He was a member of Batesville Presbyterian Church, and the Lester Men’s Bible Class, serving as president and treasurer of the class through the years. He was also a past member and chairman of the Board of Deacons, also a member of the Batesville Civitan Club. He was a Mason, and a member of the Panola Historical and Genological Society, a Board of Director at Panola County CO-OP, and one of the original stockholders when First Security Bank was formed in 1952.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Orr "Dot" King of Batesville; one son, Calvin Jones King, Jr. and wife Andrea of Germantown; two daughters, Margaret Buntin and husband Robert of Batesville, and Dorothy Lou Aldridge and Husband Mack; one brother, John Lee King of Oxford, one sister, Nell King Henson of New Albany; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

King, Patricia Carpenter
Patricia Carpenter King, 65, of Holcomb, died Friday, September 20, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Grenada of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston. Burial was in Magnolia Garden in Charleston. Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
King, born October 20, 1936, was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Dean King of Holcomb; a daughter, Ann Ross of Holcomb; three sons, Horace Dean King, Jr. and Johnny Ray King, both of Holcomb, and Freddie King of Cascilla; three sisters, Winnie Davis of Harvey, Louisiana, Dorothy Kendall of Cascilla and Katherine Bennett of Holcomb; seven brothers, Steven Carpenter of Gore Springs, Carl Carpenter of New Orleans, Bob Carpenter, Harvey Carpenter, Jr. and Charles Carpenter, all of Cascilla, Billy Carpenter of Como, and R.C. Carpenter of Charleston; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
