Deborah Copeland Johnson passed away on March 21, 2025, in Oxford, at the age of 72. Born on July 10, 1952, in San Luis Obispo, California, she brought joy and creativity to the lives of those who knew her.
A service to celebrate her life was held Monday, March 24, in the Martin Willingham Memorial chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville.
Deborah had a passion for arts and crafts, always seeking to express her creativity in unique ways. She often found happiness in shopping trips and cherished moments spent spoiling her grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit and loving nature left a profound impact on her family and friends, who will carry fond memories of her warmth and kindness.
Deborah is survived by her daughter, Ashley Darby of Batesville, and son, Scott Darby (Lauren) of Water Valley. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Will Coleman (Kelly), Mary Leigh Coleman, Gavin Darby (Chasity), Ashlyn Darby, and Payton Darby, whose lives were enriched by her loving presence. Additionally, Deborah cherished her role as a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, filling her life with joy and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Johnson, and her parents, Ramer R. and Annie Ruth Goodnight Copeland. Deborah also mourned the loss of her sister, Brenda Copeland Daniels. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Copeland Berryhill of Sardis, and her legacy will continue to be felt by all who loved her.
Deborah Copeland Johnson will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
