Ovie Sue Jenkins, 92, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 at the Tallahatchie General Hospital-Extended Care Facility in Charleston surrounded by family.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 18,  in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville.

Ovie was born on June 9, 1932 to the late Freddie C. Underwood and Ethel Marie Underwood in Fulton. In her lifetime, Ovie found joy in the simple pleasures of being surrounded by her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a long-time, faithful member of the Locke Station Baptist Church. Ovie also had a passion for reading.

The family she leaves behind includes her two sons, James Jenkins (Tawana) of Batesville,  and Johnny Jenkins (Rhonda) of Walker, LA; three grandchildren, Heather Jenkins Scott (Bobby), Steven Jenkins, and Corey Jenkins; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jenkins; one son, Jackie Jenkins; and 14 siblings.
