Billy Edward Bramlett, Sr., 78, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the North Mississippi Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 30,  at 6 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 4 p.m.

Billy was born on July 1, 1946 to the late Nathaniel Bramlett and Grace Bridges Bramlett in Marks. He was a remarkable individual who wore many hats during his lifetime. A true jack of all trades, he was a self-employed mechanic with an exceptional skill for fixing things. Additionally, Billy successfully owned and operated a salvage yard.

Described as someone who never met a stranger, Billy’s friendly and approachable demeanor endeared him to everyone he encountered.

Outside of work, Billy found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for fishing, finding solace by the water’s edge. Hunting also held a special place in his heart, allowing him to connect with nature and savor the great outdoors. Furthermore, he enjoyed the occasional visit to the casino for some entertainment and excitement. However, above all else, Billy treasured the time spent with his family, especially his cherished children and grandchildren.

The family Billy leaves behind to cherish includes his children, Chuck Dyer of Newport, AR, Billy Bramlett, Jr. “Bubba” of Batesville, Donna Taylor (Billy) of Mantachie,  Loretta Helmes (Dale) of Scottsville, KY, Jason Bramlett (Stacey) of Pontotoc, and Misty Bramlett of Sardis; two brothers, Jimmy Wayne Bramlett and Wilmar Bramlett both of Sardis; 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Billy is preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Bramlett Lucas; one sister, Joyce Ann McCoy; and two brothers, Robert Earl Bramlett and Jerry Lee Bramlett.
