A Memorial Gathering followed by a Memorial Service in honor of Mike’s memory will be held on Wednesday, June 5th in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The gathering will commence at 11 a.m. with the service following at 1 p.m. Let us come together to celebrate the life of a man whose warmth and humor brightened our days.
Mike was a man of many talents and passions. Throughout his life, he dedicated his time and expertise to his career while cherishing simple joys like playing golf, riding motorcycles, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors through hunting. His mischievous side shone through his love for pulling pranks, bringing laughter and light to those around him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments and hobbies, Mike found immense joy in the company of his beloved dogs, Buster and Mandy, who were loyal companions by his side through thick and thin. His caring nature extended not only to his furry friends but also to his family and friends who meant the world to him.
Mike is survived by his loving companion, Shirley Farmer of Sardis; daughter Krystal Goforth of Sardis; loving mother Geneva Carpenter Meek of Batesville; dear sister Cindy Sullivan of Batesville; supportive brother Ronnie Goforth (Tracy) of Batesville; half-brother Todd Goforth of Memphis; step-brother Bobby Meek (Kimberly) of Batesville; four grandchildren: Lexi Goforth, Jordan Goforth, Brylee Barragan, Swayze Tidwell; great-granddaughter Ava Grace Goforth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Kiihnl Goforth; father, Albert Wayne Goforth, his step-father, James “Jimmy” Meek; and his son, Michael Wayne Goforth.
His presence will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
As we bid farewell to Mike “Goober” Goforth in this earthly realm, may we carry forward his legacy of laughter, kindness, and love. Rest in peace, dear friend.
