On Thursday, Nov. 16,  at approximately 8:44 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 55 in Panola County.

 A 2002 Ford Ranger driven by 53-year-old Tracie L. Holmes of Brandon,  traveling north when it crossed the median and collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 39-year-old Lance Barnett of Union,  traveling south.

 Tracie L. Holmes received fatal injuries from the crash.

 The crash remains under investigation by the MHP.
