BJHS wraps up season with sweep

Young Tigers finish with 15-3 record
The South Panola Junior High baseball team concluded an outstanding season with a 15-3 record after sweeping Lafayette County 10-3 and 5-3 Thursday in Oxford.
In game one, Vandarrius Pollard drove in five runs with a single and double to lead the Tigers in victory. Holden Daleke added a triple and two singles while Luke Alexander provided a single and double.
Jarett Toliver doubled and drove in two runs. Daleke also fanned six batters and walked three in three innings. Caige Griffin struck out two and issued two walks in two innings of relief.
In the nightcap, Griffin, Charlie Jack Hudson and Anson Bright all singled in South Panola’s victory.
Toliver picked up the save for Charlie Bowlin with five strikeouts in two innings. Bowlin earned the victory with a hit, walk and three unearned runs with seven strikeouts in two innings.
