SP cagers end regular season

The South Panola basketball Tigers wrapped up their regular season by splitting a pair of games at Grenada Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers improved to 11-7 on the year with a 56-46 win while the boys lost 51-36 to the Chargers.

Ja’Tavion Hicks led South Panola (2-16) with 14 points while Issac Sturdivant provided six. Keantrae Ellis, Isaiah Sanford and Keithron Jones each added three points.

Stanwon Porter, Christion Bobo and Tyler Fondren all finished with two points each.

Both South Panola teams will now focus its attention on the post-season as the Region 3-6A tournament gets underway Tuesday at Starkville.

The fourth-seeded Lady Tigers will take on No. 1 seed Germantown while the Tiger boys square off against regular season champ and host team Starkville.

Tip-off has yet to be determined.
