Organizers of the 2020 JA Charity Ball have released the first set of clues for readers hoping to guess the identity of this year’s King and Queen, a closely-guarded secret of the Batesville Junior Auxiliary.
The King and Queen will be revealed, and their Royal Court, presented at this year’s event, “An Enchanted Evening,” set for Feb. 1 at the Panola Country Club. Tickets are $60 and may be obtained from any JA member, or at the door.
Tickets include beer and wine cups, dinner, and participation in the live and silent auctions held throughout the evening. The fundraiser provides the local JA chapter with the resources to carry out the many community projects the group undertakes each year to improve the lives of children in the city.
Last year’s King and Queen, Ricky Swindle and Ginny Soseebee will be on hand to congratulate the new royalty.
The first clue for the King this year is: His favorite author is Ernest Hemingway, and he has been to his house.
For the Queen: She is a proud alumna of the University of Mississippi.
Additional clues will be published in the Tuesday and Friday editions of next week’s newspapers.
